Biography
Courtney’s nursing background is in acute care pediatric nursing. Courtney’s entire nursing
career has been at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. She held roles as a bedside nurse, charge nurse of a 50
bed acute care unit, and severed on several hospital-wide boards. After completing her MSN-Ed., she
worked as a clinical instructor and adjunct instructor for nursing programs in her home state of
Tennessee. After moving to the DC area, she became a Visiting Professor at Marymount University
School of Nursing. Mrs. Ball is the Vice President of the Eta Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau
International Honors society. She is also a member of the Society of Pediatric nurses, and serves on
committees for the Malek School of Health Professions.
