Work in the Garden of Hope 2021 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church
September 11 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
In 2020, Saint Andrew’s volunteers planted, picked, packaged, and donated 2,255 lbs. of fresh, organic vegetables. That’s a ton, plus 255 pounds, on our small piece of land. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped make this happen during a difficult year! Your efforts are helping to feed the hungry when they need our help more than ever, and the garden needs lots of summer volunteers.
St. A’s is looking for help planting/watering/weeding on Saturdays at 9am, as well as watering/weeding teams for Tuesdays and Thursdays. The garden is located next to the upper parking lot, behind the 2310 House. Questions? Contact Marymount POC Susan Agolini (firstname.lastname@example.org).
This year, we’ve updated our procedures to ensure volunteer safety:
- A maximum of 20 people may be in the garden at a time. To ensure that we are under that limit, you must sign up in advance. Questions? Please email Emily Blecksmith, Parish Administrator.
- You must maintain six feet of distance from other volunteers while in the garden (exceptions made for volunteers from the same household).
- Bring your own gardening gloves — and your favorite weeding tool if you have one.
- Other general materials you should bring as needed: a water bottle, sunscreen, sun protection (e.g. hat, sunglasses, etc.)
Location: St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Upper Parking Lot
