She strives to use technology to enhance teaching in both the classroom and the laboratory.\u00a0She completed her undergraduate degree in\u00a0Biochemistry\u00a0at Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. After that, she spent a year working at the state-of-the-art Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases in Singapore where she was involved in drug-discovery research on tuberculosis and dengue fever. In 2011, Dr. Jaber received her doctoral degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDr. Jaber&#8217;s research consists of two main areas. The first is developing new synthetic methodologies aimed to poly-functionalize prominent compounds that have important biological activity.\u00a0She is actively involved in undergraduate research where students are engaged in organic synthesis projects. Dr. Jaber&#8217;s second\u00a0area of research interest is in the field of chemical education where she strives to develop chemistry educational tools that can be used in the classroom.\u00a0Dr. Jaber has presented at local and national conferences on a variety of topics related to organic synthesis, organometallics, and chemistry pedagogical research.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDr. Jaber is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Society), and Phi Beta Kappa. She serves as a coordinator for the Chemical Society of Washington (CSW)\u00a0\u00a0Younger Chemist\u2019s Committee (YCC) where she helps organize\u00a0different educational and outreach events.
