Marymount University provides unique scholars opportunities for students who are seeking challenging academic experiences.<\/p>\n
Students should apply to the scholars programs online.<\/a> Some programs may consider current MU applicants in addition to incoming students. Incoming students must be admitted to MU to be eligible for admission to the scholars programs.<\/p>\n The MU Scholars Program application is closed for Fall 2024 entry. The Fall 2025 Scholars application will be available in September 2024. <\/em><\/span><\/strong>Some programs may accept applications after the deadline. Please check the application to see which programs are still be accepting applications.<\/span><\/p>\n The Marymount University Global Scholars Program offers motivated students in all disciplines the opportunity to expand their global perspective through a variety of unique and dynamic intercultural learning opportunities. Global Scholars will explore global issues and develop their intercultural competency through focused coursework, guided research, language proficiency, and global learning experiences. Global Scholars form a distinct community of learners at Marymount. All academic schools are represented within the program, and students from all majors are encouraged to apply to the program. The Honors Program encourages students to become independent, critical thinkers. It challenges them intellectually and promotes academic excellence on campus.<\/p>\n Admission to the program is very competitive. Applicants should have at least a 3.50 unweighted high school GPA.<\/p>\n Honors Program applicants must submit one essay response and one academic writing sample from previous coursework. The Spirit of Service Scholars Program is open to students who have met high academic standards and have an outstanding record of volunteer service activities in their high school, church, and\/or community agencies.<\/p>\n This competitive scholars program is available to students with a high record of academic achievement and extensive volunteer service experience with school, church, or community organizations. Recipients are expected to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and must complete 60 hours of community service per semester. While other undergraduates will need to apply to the graduate program, qualifying criminal justice or psychology majors who are Forensic Scholars are exempt from this process. This program is open to incoming first-year and transfer applicants. Students, admitted by the PT Admissions Committee, must meet stringent acceptance and continuation requirements.
