Unless otherwise noted, these scholarships are all for students pursuing their first bachelor’s degrees.
For students entering Marymount in Fall 2020

- The Marymount Academic Distinction Scholarship is a $16,000 annual award.
- The Marymount Academic Excellence Scholarship is a $14,500 annual award.
- The Marymount Saints Scholarship is a $12,500 annual award.
- The Marymount Opportunity Scholarship is a $10,000 annual award.
All transfer scholarships are renewable for up to four years of study, provided you maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of (at least) a 2.5. In order to receive priority consideration for these awards, your application for admission and supporting documents should be submitted no later than March 1. Please note that no student may be awarded more than one of these scholarships and are only available to students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
This renewable scholarship for up to $2,000 is available to first-degree transfer students who have been active members in their former institution’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Applicants should be enrolled full time and have at least a 3.5 GPA and 30 college credits.
Priority consideration will be given to applications received by May 1. Later applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.
Students enrolling in the Fall semester or later who are related to a Marymount alumnus are eligible to receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years of study, provided the student maintains good academic standing at Marymount.
CyberCorps Scholarship for Service
This scholarship, funded by the National Science Foundation, is open to undergraduate students pursuing a B.S. in Information Technology with a concentration in Networking and Cybersecurity, or a B.S./M.S. with an undergraduate concentration in Networking and Cybersecurity and a graduate concentration in Computer Security. The award includes an $8,000 stipend, full tuition and academic fees, a book allowance of $1,000, funding for conference attendance, and a paid summer internship. Upon graduation, the recipient will fulfill a two-year work commitment in the cybersecurity field with a federal, state, or local government agency or a federally funded research and development company.
Undergraduates must be at least at the sophomore level in order to apply.

Honors Program Scholarship
Transfer students admitted to the Marymount University Honors Program may be eligible for an additional scholarship award. Admission to the program is very competitive. Applicants should have a college GPA of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 1270 SAT or 26 ACT composite score. International students must present a TOEFL score of 617 on the paper-based test or 260 for a computer-based test.
Priority consideration will be given to Honors Program applications received by February 1. Later applications will be considered on a space-available basis.
Marymount Out of State Residential Transfer Grant
This $3,000 grant is offered to full-time applicants working on their 1st undergraduate degree, living outside of the state of Virginia who stay in campus housing during their time at Marymount. It is renewable for up to four years of study, provided the applicant continues to stay in on-campus housing
Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG)
Each year, the Commonwealth of Virginia determines a grant amount to be awarded to legal residents of Virginia who attend Marymount full-time. The grant amount for this year is estimated to be $3,200.
Qualifying students should submit the VTAG application to the Office of Financial Aid by no later than July 31. Later applications will be considered by the Commonwealth on a funds-available basis.
DC Tuition Assistance Grant (DCTAG)
The District of Columbia provides a renewable $2,500 grant to DC residents who attend Marymount full-time. This grant is awarded solely on the basis of DC residency, not on financial need.
Qualifying students should submit the DC OneApp and required documents to the District of Columbia government by June 30. Later applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.
Students with demonstrated financial need may qualify for additional financial aid from Marymount University or from federal, state, or local government sources. Additional information about Pell, SEOG, Stafford, Parent PLUS, Work-Study, and other need-based financial aid programs can be found at the Office of Financial Aid.

TheDream.US Scholarships for students with DACA and TPS status
Marymount University has recently signed a partnership with TheDream.US, the nation’s largest college access and success program for DREAMers.
This new partnership enables incoming Marymount DREAMers to apply for the TheDream.US’s National Scholarship.
Please know the scholarship recipients are chosen by the TheDream.US, not by Marymount University. Your application and acceptance to Marymount University are separate from your application for theTheDream.US National Scholarship.
TheDream.US National Scholarship details
- The National Scholarship is for first-time college students or community college transfer students intending to start at Marymount University in the Fall 2019.
- Up to $29,000 for first-year students to be applied towards the four-year study at Marymount University.
- Up to $15,000 for transfer students form community colleges to be applied during the remaining time at Marymount University.
- Marymount’s merit-based scholarships can still be applied towards your Marymount education if awarded a TheDream.US scholarship.
