{"id":37975,"date":"2025-12-11T13:17:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T18:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/?p=37975"},"modified":"2025-12-11T13:17:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T18:17:00","slug":"the-health-and-education-herald-issue-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/the-health-and-education-herald-issue-5\/","title":{"rendered":"The Health and Education Herald (Issue #5)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"90\" data-end=\"362\">The Marymount <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/college-of-health-and-education\/\">College of Health and Education (CHE)<\/a> presents the <a href=\"https:\/\/acrobat.adobe.com\/id\/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:ab4f9618-8baf-4bb8-b601-df1da08c7a51\">fifth edition of <em data-start=\"172\" data-end=\"205\">The Health and Education Herald<\/em><\/a>, highlighting key achievements, faculty excellence and student impact as the University concludes a <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/75\/\">milestone year celebrating Marymount\u2019s 75th anniversary<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"364\" data-end=\"974\">This winter issue reflects on a year of growth, community connection and national recognition, including major rankings gains such as Marymount reaching its <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/blog\/marymount-earns-record-rankings-from-u-s-news-forbes-and-niche-for-2026\/\">highest-ever national university position<\/a>, earning the <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/blog\/marymount-earns-record-rankings-from-u-s-news-forbes-and-niche-for-2026\/\">#1 spot among Virginia\u2019s private institutions<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/nursing\/bachelor-of-science-in-nursing\/\">undergraduate nursing<\/a> and being <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/blog\/marymount-earns-record-rankings-from-u-s-news-forbes-and-niche-for-2026\/\">named to Forbes\u2019 2026 America\u2019s Top Colleges list<\/a>. This issue also welcomes new staff, celebrates the launch of the University\u2019s first Alumni Awards and shares updates on the upcoming Spring 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/blog\/marymount-launches-online-speech-language-pathology-masters-program\/\">launch of the Master\u2019s in Speech-Language Pathology program.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1457\">The issue highlights a wide range of faculty accomplishments across the <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/education\/\">School of Education<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/college-of-health-and-education\/nursing\/\">Malek School of Nursing Professions<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/health-sciences\/\">School of Health Sciences<\/a>, including national conference presentations, published research, major workshop leadership and national spotlights from organizations such as the Council for Exceptional Children, APHA and ASHA. Several new grants and initiatives are also featured, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/blog\/early-learning-academy-creating-new-steam-lab-with-support-from-arlington-county-grant\/#:~:text=Marymount%20University's%20Early%20Learning%20Academy,the%20Arlington%20County%20Board%20and\">creation of a new STEAM Lab supported by Arlington County<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1459\" data-end=\"1894\">Student activities and achievements are showcased throughout the newsletter, from health sciences students volunteering at Remote Area Medical clinics, to counseling students participating in ACA Hill Day and suicide prevention walks.
