Listed below are just some of the ways previous students have gained experience, networked, taken part in research, and found early career opportunities.<\/p>\n<h3>Present at Marymount&#8217;s own Annual Research Conference<\/h3>\n<p>Students at Marymount University have the opportunity to <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/health-sciences\/ms-in-public-health-education-and-promotion\/student-projects-and-research\/\">present research at the Annual Research Conference<\/a> held each year. Gain valuable experience and boost your resume by presenting your own research.<\/p>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3>Attend or present at a Conference<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&nbsp;The Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">SOPHE is a professional organization founded in 1950 to provide global leadership to the profession of health education and health promotion and to promote the health of all people by: stimulating the research on the theory and practice of health education; supporting high quality performance standards for the practice of health education and health promotion; advocating policy and legislation affecting health education and health promotion; and developing and promoting standards for professional preparation of health education professionals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Visit&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sophe.org\/\">sophe.org<\/a><span class=\"s1\">&nbsp;for information about &nbsp;conferences, research, and early career opportunities&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">American Public Health Association (APHA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">The American Public Health Association works to advance the health of all people and all communities. As the nation&#8217;s leading public health organization, APHA strengthens the impact of public health professionals and provides a science-based voice in policy debates too often driven by emotion, ideology of financial interests. APHA is at the forefront of efforts to advance prevention, reduce health disparities and promote wellness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Visit&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apha.org\/\">www.apha.org<\/a>&nbsp;for information about conferences,&nbsp;<\/span>getting involved professionally, research, and early &nbsp;jobs opportunities.<\/p>\n<h3>Become a Graduate Assistant<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>We have one full time GA position in the Health and Human Performance Program. There are also many GA positions for graduate students at Marymount.
