{"id":4808,"date":"2020-11-18T20:24:57","date_gmt":"2020-11-18T20:24:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/developmenttwo.marymount.edu\/academics\/?page_id=4808"},"modified":"2023-10-26T11:46:51","modified_gmt":"2023-10-26T15:46:51","slug":"revising-scheduled-communication-access-services","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/access-belonging-and-culture\/student-access-services\/deaf-hard-of-hearing-protocol-policy\/revising-scheduled-communication-access-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Revising Scheduled Communication Access Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Changes in students\u2019 scheduled interpreting services may occur due to the following scenarios:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Becoming aware of additional communication needs for coursework beyond those services which have already been scheduled.<\/li>\n<li>Communication access service providers do not show-up\/report to a scheduled assignment.<\/li>\n<li>Communication access service providers inform students of anticipated absences.<\/li>\n<li>Professor informs students that a scheduled class meeting and\/or related activity will be cancelled.<\/li>\n<li>Students cannot participate due to sickness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SAS has established timelines in which to request and cancel services to help students effectively plan and secure communications access.\u00a0 These timelines reflect the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Fourteen days (14 days) advance notice<\/u> to request communication access assignments due to the high demand for interpreters and CART providers in the DC area.\u00a0 Less than fourteen days (14 days) advance notice considered on a case-by-case basis to determine if communication access services can feasibly be scheduled.<\/li>\n<li><u>At least 48 <strong>business<\/strong> hours advance notice <\/u>to cancel scheduled services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScIvEaJ8YiLGfskdkTpirsDgkmlRxTsYdDB3ZB9gi__swEQQA\/viewform?pli=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScIvEaJ8YiLGfskdkTpirsDgkmlRxTsYdDB3ZB9gi__swEQQA\/viewform?pli=1\">Communication Access Request (Interpreter or CART provider) Student Form<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Changes in students\u2019 scheduled interpreting services may occur due to the following scenarios: Becoming aware of additional communication needs for coursework beyond those services which have already been scheduled.
