Nina McLemore founded her collection to provide designer clothing for executive women who need a powerful, successful image, a wardrobe that is easy to co-ordinate and travels well, and personalized service to save busy women time. The design concept is chic, understated clothing using fine European natural fabrics, and made in New York. The collection is known for brilliant colors and fit. The company’s clients include, C Suite executives, professionals, elected officials, judges and community leaders such as Elaine Chao, Shelly Moore Capito and Janet Yellen.

Nina grew up in Mississippi and made all her own clothes. She learned early the importance of image to get the recognition of what status you have.

Nina founded Liz Claiborne Accessories and a Private Equity Firm and has an MBA from Columbia. She and the company have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and on interviews on NBC Now, Bloomberg Market Makers and Inside Edition. She received the Highest Leaf Award from the New York Venture Fund, the Office Depot Entrepreneurial Visionary Award, and has been honored by Girl’s, Inc. and the Girl Scout Council of New York. She is a member of the Economic Club, the International Women’s Forum, Women Presidents Organization. And Commercial Real Estate Executive Women. She speaks frequently on Executive Presence and the Importance of Image.

The collection focuses on the jackets, as that is the most important element of a wardrobe. There are pants, skirts, dresses, and tops that co-ordinate so it is possible to travel with a carry on – all under $1,000.

The collection is sold in a multi-channel strategy: 3 company owned stores, including one at Friendship Heights, independent sales representatives and the internet. The direct strategy provides a much higher quality product at a substantially lower price than other designers, and a higher level of personal service.

Nina designs clothes so that it is clear when a woman walks in the room that she belongs at the table and even at the head of the table.
