While other undergraduates will need to apply to the graduate program, qualifying <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/college-of-sciences-and-humanities\/school-of-social-and-behavioral-sciences\/undergraduate-programs\/criminal-justice\/\">criminal justice<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/college-of-sciences-and-humanities\/school-of-social-and-behavioral-sciences\/undergraduate-programs\/psychology-b-a\/\">psychology<\/a> majors who are Forensic Scholars are exempt from this process.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>The Forensic Scholars Program is open to a select group of current and incoming transfer and first-year students who are chosen by the Forensic Admissions Committee and must meet stringent continuation requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To be accepted into the program, an incoming first-year student must have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 or above<\/li>\n<li>Completed the essay portion of the Scholars Program application addressing their interest and commitment to the field of Forensic and Legal Psychology (500-word minimum)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To be accepted into the program, a transfer or current student must have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above in all previous\/existing undergraduate coursework<\/li>\n<li>An average GPA of 3.5 or above in previous\/existing psychology and\/or criminal justice coursework<\/li>\n<li>Completed the essay portion of the Scholars Program application addressing their interest and commitment to the field of Forensic and Legal Psychology (500-word minimum)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To continue in the program, a student must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain an overall GPA of 3.5<\/li>\n<li>Complete designated criminal justice and psychology courses<\/li>\n<li>Complete a forensic-oriented research project and internship<\/li>\n<li>Attend at least 2 Forensic and Legal Psychology Department events<\/li>\n<li>Attend at least 1 meeting of a Forensic and Legal Psychology MA Course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested students are advised to apply as soon as possible.&nbsp;For current students, the application and all additional materials must be submitted no later than the&nbsp;<strong>end of the first semester of the applicant\u2019s junior year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information, please contact&nbsp;<span id=\"eeb-534161-370288\"><a href=\"mailto:admissions@marymount.edu\">admissions@marymount.edu<\/a> and visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/admissions\/scholars-programs\/\">Guarnateed and Preferred Graduate Admission Pathways page<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p>The Forensic and Legal Psychology Scholars application is closed&nbsp;for the&nbsp;<strong>Fall 2025 cohort<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are interested in the field of Forensic and Legal Psychology (FLP) and have a strong academic profile, Marymount\u2019s Forensic Scholars Program offers guaranteed admission into&nbsp;the university\u2019s graduate Forensic and Legal Psychology program.
