This specialization is based on recommendations from the Council of Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This track includes both speech-language pathology specific coursework as well as general education and specific anatomy and physiology, psychology and development, neurology and public health coursework.\u00a0 Students will be prepared in health sciences, public health and speech-language pathology. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\u2217 Students taking this emphasis are strongly encouraged to consider the Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better; a grade of B or better in SLP 201, SLP 301, SLP 302 and SLP 401; and a minimum of 12 credits earned at Marymount are needed to register for the internship.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Internship Requirements:<\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n
When other requirements are completed, and minimum grade requirements are met, the student is placed in a 120-hour, three-credit internship.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 across SLP 201, SLP 301, SLP 302 and SLP 401 is recommended for application to graduate programs in speech-language pathology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
