What is a Dependent?<\/h3>\n

F-1 visa holders are eligible to bring their spouse <\/strong>and\/or children<\/strong>\u00a0with them on an\u00a0F-2 dependent visa.\u00a0<\/strong>If you plan to bring any dependents with you while you are a student at Marymount, request an I-20 for each<\/em> dependent via the ISSS portal. Parents, siblings, grandparents, and aunt and uncles of the student are not eligible as dependents for F-2 purposes.<\/p>\n

Documents Required to Request an I-20 for a Dependent\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

  • For each dependent, a copy of their passport photo\/identification page. (Passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond their planned entry to the U.S.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

  • Proof of relationship, such as a marriage certificate (for spouse) and a birth certificate (for child) or an official<\/em> family certificate translated into English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
