Eligibility<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0 SEVIS Transfer Out<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0 University Separation<\/a><\/p>\n An F-1 or SEVIS Transfer means that you entered the U.S. on one school\u2019s I-20 and you are changing to an I-20 to be issued by another U.S. school. Marymount University is required to inform U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) of all F-1 \/ SEVIS record transfers from Marymount to another U.S. school.<\/p>\n To be eligible to transfer your I-20 to another U.S. school:<\/strong><\/p>\n Students must start their new program at their new school at the next available session, which must begin within 5 months of whichever is earlier:<\/strong><\/p>\n Students who are on post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) must resume classes within 5 months of whichever is earlier:<\/strong><\/p>\n Note for students on OPT who plan to transfer out prior to their OPT end date:<\/strong> the last day that your OPT authorization may end is the day prior to your Transfer SEVIS Release Date. You may not continue to work on OPT on or after the date of your SEVIS Release. Please plan accordingly.<\/p>\n Before starting the process, you are encouraged to reach out to your new international student office to request their Transfer-In deadline and Transfer-In Form, if they have one.<\/p>\n When you are ready to request to SEVIS Transfer Out of Marymount University, please complete these steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n Please allow up to 10 business days for ISSS to review and process your request. We will contact you through your Marymount student email account if we have questions, need more information, or when your request has been processed. If you submitted a Transfer-In Form for your new school, the completed form will be available in the Documents section of your ISSS portal, when ready.<\/p>\n The SEVIS Release Date is the date that your new U.S. school will electronically receive your SEVIS record. Please note:<\/strong><\/p>\n The steps described above are related to transferring out your SEVIS record only.
