Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD)<\/p>\n
The National Security Agency (NSA) and its partners (the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency \u2013CISA- and the Federal Bureau of Investigation – FBI-, the National Institute of Standards and Technology -NIST-\/National Initiative on Cybersecurity Education -NICE-, the National Science Foundation -NSF-, the Department of Defense Office of the Chief Information Officer -DoD-CIO-, and U.S. Cyber Command -USCYBERCOM-) designates university and community colleges as Centers of Academic Excellence in designated areas: defense, offence, and research. Their in-depth evaluation process includes reviewing the programs offered; examining the content of the individual courses; pedagogy including hands-on learning; university and program management; and student outcomes on graduation.<\/p>\n
Marymount University first became a CAE in 2013 and was re-designated, with new requirements, in 2022, the current designation is through 2028.<\/p>\n
The CAE-CD is a recognition of our commitment to a quality cybersecurity education (undergraduate, master\u2019s, and doctorate) and the need for changing workforce skills.<\/p>\n
The number of cybersecurity attacks is increasing and consequently there is a high demand for cybersecurity workers, from cybersecurity technicians to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).<\/p>\n
