The Raja Nasr Endowed Scholarship in Education<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The Raja Nasr Endowed Scholarship was established in 2007 to honor Dr. Raja Nasr\u2019s commitment to Marymount University and its School of Education. It was endowed by appreciative students, former students, colleagues and friends of Dr. Nasr. Students must be undergraduate or graduate student\/s who are currently enrolled in education courses and are on the education licensure track with financial need. Preference will be given to a student\/s with an ESL concentration, but that is not necessary.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The AAPT Board of Directors offers scholarships for future high school physics teachers. These scholarships, supported by an endowment funded by Barbara Lotze, are available only to U.S. citizens attending U.S. schools. Undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs are eligible. Successful applicants receive a stipend of up to $3,000 and a complimentary AAPT Student Membership for one year. The scholarship may be granted to an individual for each of four years.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (Noyce) invites innovative proposals that address the critical need for recruiting, preparing, and retaining highly effective elementary and secondary mathematics and science teachers and teacher leaders in high-need school districts. To achieve this goal, Noyce supports talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) undergraduate majors<\/b> and professionals to become effective K-12 STEM teachers. intending to develop a proposal in any of the program’s tracks.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Vicki Soto Memorial Scholarship<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The Stratford-based Vicki Soto Memorial Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship. A scholarship committee selects four recipients every year. The first two scholarships are to our local high schools in Stratford. In addition, we have expanded The Vicki Soto Memorial Scholarship to be awarded state-wide and nationally as well. One recipient from the state of Connecticut and one recipient from around the country will receive a renewable award.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

AASA\u2019s Educational Administration Scholarships were created to provide incentive, honor and financial assistance to outstanding graduate students in school administration who intend to make the school superintendency a career. Top graduate students in educational administration receive a scholarship from AASA, The School Superintendents Association. The applicant must be recommended by the chair of the School of Education in which the applicant is currently enrolled.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

DAR Edward G. and Helen A. Borgen Elementary and Secondary Teacher Education Scholarships<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The Edward G. and Helen A. Borgen Secondary Teacher Scholarship is a one-time preferred amount of up to $1,500 awarded to one student who is twenty-five (25) years of age or older. The award is based on academic merit and is not automatically renewable, however, recipients may reapply for consideration as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Eligibility: Applicants must be studying to teach at the secondary school level<\/b>. This grant will be evaluated on the strength of the project proposal, budget, promotion plan, and expected outcome.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The International Order of the Alhambra, Inc. is a fraternal organization of Catholic men and women (age 18 years and older) dedicated to assisting persons that are intellectually disabled or handicapped. In recognition of increasing importance of higher education, the International Order of Alhambra is proud to provide financial scholarship awards. Scholarship awards are made on the basis that the applicant is dedicated to this special field of education.
