These scholarships, supported by an endowment funded by Barbara Lotze, are available only to U.S. citizens attending U.S. schools. Undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs are eligible. Successful applicants receive a stipend of up to $3,000 and a complimentary AAPT Student Membership for one year. A scholarship committee selects four recipients every year. The first two scholarships are to our local high schools in Stratford. In addition, we have expanded The Vicki Soto Memorial Scholarship to be awarded state-wide and nationally as well. Top graduate students in educational administration receive a scholarship from AASA, The School Superintendents Association. In recognition of increasing importance of higher education, the International Order of Alhambra is proud to provide financial scholarship awards. Scholarship awards are made on the basis that the applicant is dedicated to this special field of education.
