SI Leaders should try to take the class during the first semester of working with the Student Academic Hub, but no later than the second semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Benefits of Being an SI Leader<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn course content even better<\/li>\n<li>Acquire new study skills<\/li>\n<li>Practice collaborative learning techniques<\/li>\n<li>Develop leadership &amp; communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Network with students &amp; faculty<\/li>\n<li>Gain references<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Qualifications<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Be registered as a full-time student<\/li>\n<li>Commit to working a full semester, ideally the entire academic year<\/li>\n<li>GPA of 3.0 or higher<\/li>\n<li>B or higher in course subject<\/li>\n<li>Be recommended by a faculty member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Preferred Qualifications<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency in MS Word and Excel at the intermediate level<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Zoom and Canvas<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>How to Apply<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into Workday, type \u201cFind student jobs\u201d in the main search bar, and find the job posting titled \u201cPeer Tutor\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Submit an application through Workday with your resume<\/li>\n<li>Applications are reviewed and applicants may be invited to attend an interview with the Student Academic Hub<\/li>\n<li>The Student Academic Hub will make offers as supported classes are selected, faculty agree to partner with the SI program, and SI Leader positions become available<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Other Similar Positions<\/h4>\n<p>Students interested in SI Leader positions may also be interested in these student positions offered through the Student Academic Hub: Peer Tutor or Writing Support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SI Leaders are students who help others succeed in a particular course by facilitating group sessions at least twice a week.
