One of higher education\u2019s most important responsibilities is to help individuals become enlightened and well-rounded persons. It is for this reason that every college or university will require you to complete courses that cover specific subject areas and develop specific skills. Marymount\u2019s Liberal Arts Core curriculum includes courses in writing, mathematics, the natural and social sciences, humanities, philosophy, and theology or religious studies.<\/p>\n
The Liberal Arts Core includes course requirements at both introductory and advanced levels, to achieve both breadth and depth. You should work with your academic advisor for guidance in course selection to fulfill Liberal Arts Core and Major requirement.<\/p>\n

EN 101 Composition I and EN 102 Composition II are required, with a minimum grade of C- in each class<\/p>\n
MT \u2013 One Mathematics course. Credits for MA 019W, MA 094, and MA 095 may not be applied toward any degree<\/p>\n
NS \u2014 One Natural Science course with laboratory from either Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, or Physical Science<\/p>\n
SS \u2013 Two introductory Social Science courses in Communication, Economics, Politics, Psychology, or Sociology<\/p>\n
Introductory courses in Philosophy and Theology\/Religious Studies:

\nTRS \u2013 Theological Inquiry<\/p>\n
Introductory courses in Literature, History, and Fine & Performing Arts:
\nLT \u2013 Introductory Literature
\nHI \u2013 Introductory History
\nFPA \u2013 Introductory Fine & Performing Arts<\/p>\n
DSCI \u2013 One depth course in Natural Science, Social Science, or Math<\/p>\n
DF&R \u2013 One depth course in Philosophy, Theology, or Religious Studies<\/p>\n
