Reinsch Library collection supports the University\u2019s academic programs as well as the varied information needs of its student, faculty, staff and community users. In addition to print materials, the library provides access to a wide selection of licensed online information resources such as e-journals, article indexes and reference tools.<\/p>\n<p>Marymount University is a member of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrlc.org\/\">Washington Research Library Consortium<\/a>\u00a0(WRLC), which allows eligible patrons to borrow materials from most of the academic libraries in the Washington, DC area. Use the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wrlc-mar.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?vid=01WRLC_MAR:01WRLC_MAR&amp;sortby=rank~\/default.aspx\">MULibrary Search<\/a>\u00a0to find materials such as books, journals, streaming videos and DVDs owned by Marymount and other WRLC member libraries.<\/p>\n<h2>L&amp;LS Statement on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Collections<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Library &amp; Learning Services (L&amp;LS) commits to building collections that reflect, serve, and are accessible to our users. L&amp;LS recognizes that our <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/library-learning-services\/about-l-ls\/\">commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion<\/a> requires intentional action to address any historic and ongoing exclusions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Therefore, L&amp;LS will work to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure that consideration of the needs of historically oppressed, underrepresented, and underserved groups is integral to collection development and management;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Purposefully acquire works created by people and communities of diverse experiences and identities;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Update approval plans and other selection workflows to include materials from independent, small, and local publishers, as well as publishers led and owned by members of marginalized communities and from the Global South;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide resources in formats that meet the needs of users with differing abilities;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Identify and challenge exclusionary practices in academic publishing and collection development;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Critically examine access restrictions and locations of materials in the collections to avoid de facto exclusion of historically overlooked materials and authors;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure that resource descriptions are appropriate and respectful of diverse persons and populations;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regularly review trends in our campus community and research and curricular offerings to inform collection development and management.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Print Resources<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Marymount collection consists of more than 389,000 volumes in print or electronic format. Most of the library\u2019s print collections are housed on the main campus in the Emerson G. Reinsch Library, though there are less frequently used materials at the WRLC Shared Collections Facility as well as selected reserve materials at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marymount.edu\/Academics\/Library-Learning-Services\/About-L-LS\/Ballston-Center-Library-Extension\">Ballston Coakley Library Extension<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Online Resources<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Databases: Articles, E-Books, Electronic Reference, and Streaming Media<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Library &amp; Learning Services subscribes to more than 180 online information resources with access to more than 90,000 electronic journals, streaming videos, and e-books. Marymount students, faculty, and staff can search periodicals and reference sources in the <\/span><a style=\"font-weight: 400;\" href=\"https:\/\/marymount.libguides.com\/content.php?pid=115377&amp;sid=2807352\">library databases<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from on or off campus to find full-text articles, images, videos, and more.<\/span><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">E-Books<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&amp;LS provides access to e-books through EBSCOhost, JSTOR, ebrary,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CRCnetBASE<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and others. To find Electronic Books and Shared Electronic Books available to Marymount users on a topic, limit your keyword search in the\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-weight: 400;\" href=\"https:\/\/wrlc-mar.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?vid=01WRLC_MAR:01WRLC_MAR&amp;sortby=rank~\/default.aspx\">MULibrary Search\u00a0<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to MU Catalog and then select Electronic Books from the Subject filter under Refine Your Results.<\/span><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">E-Journals<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full-text access to articles in electronic journals is available through most of our database subscriptions. Search the\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-weight: 400;\" href=\"https:\/\/wrlc-mar.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/jsearch?vid=01WRLC_MAR:01WRLC_MAR\">MU E-Journal Finder<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0to determine if a periodical is available in full text.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Electronic Reference<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">General reference databases include dictionaries, encyclopedias, and statistical information, and most are linked under <\/span><a style=\"font-weight: 400;\" href=\"https:\/\/marymount.libguides.com\/DB_Subjects\/ereference\">Electronic Reference<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0on the\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-weight: 400;\" href=\"https:\/\/marymount.libguides.com\/DB_Subjects\/List\">Articles &amp; Databases<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0page.
