The Emerson G. Reinsch Library collection supports the University\u2019s academic programs as well as the varied information needs of its student, faculty, staff and community users. In addition to print materials, the library provides access to a wide selection of licensed online information resources such as e-journals, article indexes and reference tools.<\/p>\n
Marymount University is a member of the\u00a0Washington Research Library Consortium<\/a>\u00a0(WRLC), which allows eligible patrons to borrow materials from most of the academic libraries in the Washington, DC area. Use the\u00a0MULibrary Search<\/a>\u00a0to find materials such as books, journals, streaming videos and DVDs owned by Marymount and other WRLC member libraries.<\/p>\n Library & Learning Services (L&LS) commits to building collections that reflect, serve, and are accessible to our users. L&LS recognizes that our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion<\/a> requires intentional action to address any historic and ongoing exclusions.<\/span><\/p>\n Therefore, L&LS will work to:<\/span><\/p>\n The Marymount collection consists of more than 389,000 volumes in print or electronic format. Most of the library\u2019s print collections are housed on the main campus in the Emerson G. Reinsch Library, though there are less frequently used materials at the WRLC Shared Collections Facility as well as selected reserve materials at the\u00a0Ballston Coakley Library Extension<\/a>.<\/p>\n Library & Learning Services subscribes to more than 180 online information resources with access to more than 90,000 electronic journals, streaming videos, and e-books. Marymount students, faculty, and staff can search periodicals and reference sources in the <\/span>library databases<\/a> from on or off campus to find full-text articles, images, videos, and more.<\/span> L&LS provides access to e-books through EBSCOhost, JSTOR, ebrary,\u00a0<\/span>CRCnetBASE<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>and others. To find Electronic Books and Shared Electronic Books available to Marymount users on a topic, limit your keyword search in the\u00a0<\/span>MULibrary Search\u00a0<\/a>to MU Catalog and then select Electronic Books from the Subject filter under Refine Your Results.<\/span> Full-text access to articles in electronic journals is available through most of our database subscriptions. Search the\u00a0<\/span>MU E-Journal Finder<\/a>\u00a0to determine if a periodical is available in full text.<\/span><\/p>\n General reference databases include dictionaries, encyclopedias, and statistical information, and most are linked under <\/span>Electronic Reference<\/a>\u00a0on the\u00a0<\/span>Articles & Databases<\/a>\u00a0page. Numerous subject reference works are available through the library catalog in e-book format.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Search the\u00a0<\/span>MULibrary Search<\/a> for streaming videos on a variety of subjects, including news, plays, advertising, American history, education, nursing, psychology, and counseling. To search each platform, look for the\u00a0<\/span>Streaming Media<\/a>\u00a0tab on the\u00a0<\/span>Articles & Databases<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/span> The\u00a0<\/span>Digital Collections<\/a> consist of MU yearbooks, artifacts, and faculty and student scholarship.
