The Northern Virginia Fall Prevention Alliance maximizes independence and improves the quality of life by increasing access to programs that are proven to reduce the risk of a fall. This community partnership also works to spread awareness about fall prevention by giving presentations and holding fall risk screenings.<\/p>\n
Matter of Balance (MOB) is an 8-week program that teaches practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and set goals to increase strength and balance. MOB is delivered once a week for 2 hours over 8 weeks (9 weeks if delivered virtually).<\/p>\n
Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)\u00a0 is an ongoing exercise program focusing on cardiovascular fitness, strength, and balance. SAIL classes are held 2 to 3 times per week.<\/p>\n
Otago is an ongoing individualized program that improves strength and balance through a walking and scripted exercise routine.<\/p>\n
