Our forensic psychology master&#8217;s program provides graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to work at the intersection of psychology and law \u2013 in law enforcement, criminal investigation and defense, public policy, matters involving miscarriages of justice and national security \u2014 just to name a few.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Practical experience in the metro D.C. region<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Just minutes from our nation\u2019s capital, our forensic psychology degree students participate in courtroom observations, site visits, speaker seminar series and valuable internships with agencies and organizations such as the FBI, NCIS, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, Arlington County Police, D.C. Metropolitan Police and the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Psychology and justice connection<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">At Marymount, our interdisciplinary forensic psychology master&#8217;s program combines many subfields of psychology and law, in criminal justice, law and public policy \u2013 from criminal behavior analysis to victim advocacy to eye witness testimony and more. It addresses issues such as the origins of criminal behavior and terrorism, mental health evaluations, problems with eyewitness testimony, evaluation of threats against public figures, evaluation and treatment of offenders, the effectiveness of trial consultation and how best to achieve fairness and justice in the American adversarial legal system. Each forensic psychology degree course incorporates an ethics component to encourage you to grapple with the extremely complicated issues involved in a career in forensic and legal psychology.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Intelligence studies concentration<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Within our forensic psychology master&#8217;s program, you have the option to add a concentration in Intelligence Studies.
