This article highlighted the role of public policies across six countries and their impacts on the health outcomes of older adults during the pandemic. This editor&#8217;s pick was published recently in the Public Policy and Aging Report&#8217;s October edition. Examining the Impacts of Coronavirus Disease 2019 Mitigation Policies on Health Outcomes of Older Adults: Lessons Learned From Six High-Income or Middle-Income Countries<\/p>\n<div class=\"title-wrap\">\n<p class=\"wi-article-title article-title-main accessible-content-title at-articleTitle\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wi-authors at-ArticleAuthors\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-24021 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/01\/Uma-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/01\/Uma-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/01\/Uma.jpg 338w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/>The MCOA team also presented a poster on their ongoing work assessing the feasibility of fall prevention programs implementation based on an academic-community partnership at the conference. Since<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2016,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the MCOA team has been involved in a federally-funded project to implement fall prevention programs in the Northern Virginia region. This project has trained approximately <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5,000 older adults <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and is currently in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stage of assessing the program&#8217;s reach, and outcomes and planning its next phase of implementation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine annual conference November 2022.
