At Marymount University, our bachelor\u2019s degree in Cybersecurity provides you with vast knowledge and experience in the tools and techniques used to protect the privacy and security of digital devices\u2014including computers, mobile devices, servers, and networks. Our Cybersecurity courses will equip you with a strong foundation in how digital assets work and are used\u2014and the underlying technology used in coding and scripting, collecting data, and performing network administration.<\/p>\n

Our proximity to Congress, the Department of Homeland Security\u2014as well as companies such as Amazon, Capital One, Microsoft, and Northrop Grumman\u2014will prove beneficial as you pursue internships, research positions, and careers in Cybersecurity.<\/p>\n Throughout your Cybersecurity courses, you\u2019ll utilize the same tools and techniques that you\u2019ll use professionally. For instance, our Cyber Lab provides a unique environment where you can study various Cybersecurity topics and problems in an isolated environment using proprietary and open-source tools. You will also learn more about advanced Cybersecurity topics and further your skills in our Cyber Clinic, which provides tech support to small businesses and nonprofits. No matter your interests, you\u2019ll be well-prepared to address Cybersecurity attacks, threats, and vulnerabilities.<\/p>\n Our Cybersecurity courses are taught by experienced faculty members\u2014not teaching assistants. In fact, our classes rarely have more than 20 students, and faculty members are always available in person, over Zoom, or in a Slack channel to help you with your most pressing questions.<\/p>\n Complete your course requirements for a Cybersecurity degree in as little as four years and pursue in-demand careers in the Washington, DC, area and beyond. Recent graduates who hold valuable Cybersecurity certifications find many career options in the DC metro area, including in growing areas such as compliance, digital forensics, penetration testing, and security operations.<\/p>\n Employers of Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Cybersecurity Graduates<\/strong><\/p>\n To pursue leadership roles or to gain additional Cybersecurity certifications or expertise, you may want to consider Marymount\u2019s master\u2019s degree in Cybersecurity<\/a>.<\/p>\n Credits Required: The B.S. in cybersecurity requires at least 120 total credits.<\/p>\n Minimum Grade Requirements: A minimum grade of C is required in all IT and Data Science courses. A minimum grade of C+ is required for IT 423 Senior IT Seminar and IT 489 Capstone Project.<\/p>\n Residency Requirement: Students must complete 21 credits of their cybersecurity major at Marymount.<\/p>\n Internship Prerequisites: All students must take a for-credit internship in the cybersecurity field before graduation.
