Learn how to become an interior architect and designer with Marymount University\u2019s first-professional Master of Arts (MA) Interior Architecture and Design. Created for career changers who do not hold a bachelor\u2019s degree in architecture or interior design, our innovative interior architecture and design master\u2019s degree program will train you with the knowledge, tools, and creative vision to solve complex design problems with innovative design solutions. You\u2019ll find some of the most prestigious firms and industry organizations situated close to our campus, and many alumni in the region are hiring partners at global firms.<\/p>\n
Unlike most other master\u2019s in interior architecture graduate programs, Marymount\u2019s first-professional master\u2019s program is recognized by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA)<\/a>, the platinum designation for interior architecture + design programs in North America and the preferred pathway to licensure for successful interior designers and architects.<\/p>\n Marymount provides its master\u2019s in interior design students with the technology and skills to use industry tools such as Revit Architecture, Adobe Creative Suite, plotters, laser engravers, and 3-D printers.<\/p>\n Whether it\u2019s our annual Design-athon<\/a>, field trips, internships, or research pursuits, our MA Interior Architecture and Design faculty will guide you as you put your passions to work. These connections and experiences are significant as you build a career in the Metro D.C. area and beyond.<\/p>\n Our director and 6 full-time faculty members<\/a>, who are trained as architects and interior designers, bring unique expertise to the classroom and have authored design textbooks used at universities worldwide. Small class sizes offer opportunities to know your faculty, classmates, and faculty mentors who will help you navigate the field.<\/p>\n At Marymount, our MA Interior Architecture and Design program offers paid graduate assistantship positions in research or teaching. Scholarships are also available through professional interior architecture and design organizations in the area.<\/p>\n The MA Interior Architecture and Design program at Marymount University is designated as a STEM degree. Beginning in the Fall 2023 semester, international students enrolled in this master\u2019s in interior design program can apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion OPT (Optional Practice Training) for a total of 36 months.
