With the unusual circumstances of the Spring 2020, we want to provide you with as much information as possible to help you with the transfer process. Here are some important notes about Fall 2020 admission:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Marymount will be holding our Virtual Transfer Instant Decision Days every Tuesday &amp; Thursday from now until August<\/li>\n<li>We are waiving application fees for all participants, and are providing admission decisions and scholarship notifications during their appointments, with formal mailings and email notifications following shortly afterward.&nbsp; During their appointment, Benjamin Blue, your Admissions Counselor,&nbsp;will also be able to discuss transfer credits and any other questions you have about the transfer process.<\/li>\n<li>We are also holding virtual chat sessions every day in April. All VCCS students will have the opportunity to speak with current MU Students, faculty, and staff from student life about the MU experience.<\/li>\n<li>To register for any chat session or transfer instant decision day, students can visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/visit\">marymount.edu\/visit<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Frequenty Asked Questions:<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Will a class transfer and apply to general education and appropriate degree requirements if grade of P+ is awarded in spring 2020? (indicates student earned a C or better in course.)<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes. If a student earns a P+ grade during the Spring 2020 semester and the course is otherwise transferable, transfer credit will be awarded.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">How will a grade of P+ on a spring course impact the student entering a competitive major?<\/h3>\n<p>Students will still be able to receive major credit for a P+ grade earned in the Spring 2020 semester and may use it to fulfill prerequisite requirements. Students are always encouraged to meet with their academic advisor and faculty mentor to discuss their academic progress and preparedness.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">How will a grade of P+ on a spring course impact the student meeting a major requirement of a grade of B or higher?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will still be able to receive major credit for a P+ grade earned in the Spring 2020 semester and may use it to fulfill prerequisite requirements, even if a minimum grade is normally required.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">How will a grade of P+ on a spring course impact the GAA if it requires a letter grade higher than a&nbsp; C on any courses?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students receiving a grade of P+ for spring 2020 term courses will be eligible to receive transfer credit in courses that are transferable into Marymount.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">How will a grade of P+ on a spring course be treated if the course is a pre-req for a major-specific course that normally requires a minimum grade to enroll in the major course?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students will still be able to receive major credit for a P+ grade earned in the Spring 2020 semester and may use it to fulfill prerequisite requirements, even a minimum grade is normally required.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">How will a grade of P+ (grade of C or better) or P- (grade of D) impact eligibility for the Transfer Grant?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If P- is equivalent to a D on your grading scale, then that it not transferable. A letter grade of C is required, so students who receive a grade of P+ for the spring 2020 term will be eligible to receive transfer credit in courses that are transferable into Marymount.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">When should I request my transcript?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As early as possible. We are able to admit and award you scholarships with an unofficial transcript.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">How will I register for my fall classes at Marymount?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transfer students will register&nbsp;through My MU Plan after speaking with their academic advisor. Guides and other resources are available&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marymount.edu\/Academics\/Services-Resources\/Registrar-s-Office\/Registration-Information\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">What if my 4-year orientation is cancelled?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a question many students have asked us. While it&#8217;s certainly a last resort, Virtual Orientation is always an option if we are unable to host you on our beautiful campus. Regardless if your orientation is in-person or virtually, we will ensure your orientation is personal and you learn as much as possible about Marymount and ready to be a Saint!<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">When will I know if I am accepted at MU?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once all items are received, you will know within one-two weeks. You can check your application status online by clicking&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apply.marymount.edu\/account\/login?utm_campaign=Apply%20Now%20page&amp;utm_source=UG-returning-user-button&amp;utm_medium=digital&amp;hsCtaTracking=ce1a9dbc-037a-46e8-9e6b-5a33d7814f3c%7C368def36-cf29-40a7-89e0-93c2b651f3a2\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">When will I know if I get housing at MU?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Housing Application is currently open to all admitted students who have paid their $300 Enrollment Deposit. This deposit counts toward your tuition and allows you to select your Housing.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Is it too late to apply for financial aid?<\/h3>\n<p>No, even before you apply to Marymount head to<a href=\"https:\/\/fafsa.ed.gov\/\">&nbsp;fafsa.ed.gov<\/a>&nbsp;and submit your Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to Marymount today!&nbsp;Make sure you select the 2020-2021 school year on your FAFSA and choose MU&#8217;s School&#8217;s Code (003724) to submit it to us.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">What if my financial status has changed significantly, can I apply for more aid?&nbsp; How?<\/h3>\n<p>All students are encouraged to first submit the FAFSA so they may receive a financial aid award package. If there has been a direct impact to you recently that may have not been noted when submitting the FAFSA, students will be eligible to speak with an admission counselor to file an appeal for additional financial aid.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">What if I cannot pay my admissions deposit when it is due?<\/h3>\n<p>Our Enrollment Deposit deadline is June 1st. If you know in advance that you will be unable to pay, please contact our admissions office at admissions@marymount.edu and make us aware of your circumstances.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Can I still submit an application to MU?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes, you are still able to apply to Marymount. The application is quick and only takes about five minutes to complete.
