{"id":1827,"date":"2020-10-03T15:46:57","date_gmt":"2020-10-03T15:46:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/developmenttwo.marymount.edu\/academics\/?page_id=1827"},"modified":"2021-10-08T15:54:27","modified_gmt":"2021-10-08T15:54:27","slug":"spring-2020-emergency-grading-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/services-resources\/registrar-s-office\/spring-2020-emergency-grading-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring 2020 Emergency Grading Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Effective immediately and for Spring 2020 only:<\/p>\n<p>We will expand the Pass\/Fail grading option to all undergraduate and graduate students.\u00a0At the end of the semester after final letter grades are submitted,\u00a0students\u00a0may elect\u00a0to change any course to a Pass\/Fail grade\u00a0<u><strong>on or before Friday, May 22.<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students enrolled in\u00a0professional degree programs linked to licensure (Nursing, Physical Therapy, Counseling,\u00a0Interior Design, Teacher Licensure)\u00a0will follow the decisions of their department about which courses, if any, are eligible for Pass\/Fail declaration\u00a0and the level of performance required to achieve a Pass grade. Chairs of these departments will communicate any grading accommodation to their students by Friday, April 3.<\/li>\n<li>Courses graded as Pass\/Fail will count towards fulfilling major and\/or minor requirements and minimum\u00a0credit\u00a0requirements. Earning a Pass in any Liberal Arts Core course will count toward fulfilling the Liberal Arts Core requirement.<\/li>\n<li>The Pass grade will not be calculated into the GPA.<\/li>\n<li>Students are required to consult with their academic advisors, chairs, or program directors to fully understand how taking advantage of this policy\u00a0might\u00a0affect their academic records,\u00a0their progress towards their degree, and graduate school or post-graduation career goals.<\/li>\n<li>Students are encouraged to consult with the Office of Financial Aid to ensure that taking advantage of this policy does not interfere with their eligibility for financial aid and any scholarships, grants, or other benefits.<\/li>\n<li>A note will be added to all academic transcripts indicating the unprecedented disruption that COVID-19 has caused to the academic experience during Spring 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marymount.edu\/Academics\/Services-Resources\/Registrar-s-Office\/Spring-2020-Emergency-Grading-Policy\/Emergency-Grading-Policy-FAQs\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Effective immediately and for Spring 2020 only: We will expand the Pass\/Fail grading option to all undergraduate and graduate students.\u00a0At the end of the semester after final letter grades are submitted,\u00a0students\u00a0may elect\u00a0to change any course to a Pass\/Fail grade\u00a0on or before Friday, May 22.
