Gaining acceptance to medical and other health-focused professional schools can be tremendously challenging. But with a M.S. in Medical Sciences from Marymount University, you\u2019ll be ready for wherever your career path takes you!<\/p>\n

Designed to prepare you for a successful career in medicine, Marymount\u2019s M.S. in Medical Sciences is a unique program that strengthens scientific skills, improves scores on entrance exams like the MCAT, and gives you a competitive advantage in applying to medical and other health professional schools. If you\u2019re interested in entering a career field within health care such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, or pharmaceuticals, the Medical Sciences program will provide you with the advanced knowledge necessary to succeed.<\/p>\n

Offered in collaboration with Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU)<\/a>, Marymount\u2019s Medical Sciences program is an intense, full-time academic experience, and students are strongly advised to not have outside employment in order to meet the rigorous requirements of a first-year medical school curriculum. You will engage with PHSU medical experts during recorded video lectures and participate in virtual labs, with time in Medical Sciences classes reserved for group discussions, clinical scenarios, and personalized feedback sessions with professors to improve your performance in classwork, homework, and exams.<\/p>\n

Medical Sciences faculty at Marymount also help you build a pathway to your future. Not only will you gain a thorough understanding of all of the basic sciences \u2013 anatomy, biochemistry, histology, microbiology, neuroscience, and physiology \u2013 but you will also be enabled to recognize ethical and legal dilemmas in biomedical science, and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills when working with a team. Plus, you can take advantage of comprehensive insights that help predict likelihood of success in medical school and determine which health care career might suit you best.<\/p>\n

The top 20% of Medical Sciences graduates are also guaranteed an admissions interview for PHSU\u2019s MD program located in St. Louis for English instruction and Puerto Rico for Spanish instruction.<\/p>\n
