\"\"Meet Paola Rodriguez: <\/strong><\/span>Paola (she\/her) is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student interning at LifeStance Health working with court-mandated domestic violence offenders and victims. As a child of immigrants and a bilingual individual, she utilizes her skills and knowledge to provide culturally competent counseling services in both English and Spanish. Paola hopes to contribute to the de-stigmatization of mental health in the Latinx community. Paola plans to continue working with forensic populations and seek additional training to work with individuals experiencing trauma, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. Additionally, she looks forward to contributing to making mental health services more accessible by working with those who are medically underserved and historically marginalized by providing evidence-based and non-traditional treatment. Paola hopes to work collaboratively with clients to facilitate growth and resiliency by creating a safe space for healing.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>Madison Mordica:<\/span><\/strong> Madison is currently an intern at Bright Horizon Counseling Center in Stafford, Virginia and a student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Madison holds an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting from Bryant & Stratton College and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a concentration in Addiction Treatment and Prevention from Old Dominion University. Bright Horizons is a private practice that offers a wide variety of services including individual, family, and couples counseling. Madison is passionate about working with underrepresented populations, more specifically utilizing psychoeducation and advocating for her clients’ needs both in and out of the counseling<\/span> session.<\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Katherine M.:<\/span><\/strong> Katherine is a final semester Clinical Mental Health Counseling student here at Marymount, who is currently living in Boston, MA working at Steppingstone Inc. At Steppingstone Inc. she works with individuals in the MAT program and those transitioning from incarceration, providing counseling to help them navigate substance use disorders, trauma, and reentry challenges while fostering a safe space to explore experiences and build resilience. Passionate about serving marginalized populations, Katherine plans to graduate in December 2024 and pursue her doctorate, aiming to specialize in trauma-informed care and forensic psychology to continue advocating for underserved communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Selena DanDan<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span> Selena is two semesters away from receiving her Masters in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Selena has spent many years at Marymount, where she obtained her Bachelors in Psychology and her first Masters in Forensic and Legal Psychology. Growing up in a Lebanese-American household as a first-generation college student certainly sparked Selena’s interest early on in giving back to a field where care for underserved populations was present. Selena spent the last three years working at a non-profit organization that ran a day psychosocial day program for adults with SMI. This is where her passion for serving underserved populations developed. When returning back to school for her second masters, Selena’s used this opportunity to complete her practicum in a population that was not only underserved, but also always an area of interest; eating disorders. As of present, Selena continues to work with this population throughout her internship. In the near future, Selena hopes to continue making an impact to any and all underserved populations and encourage others to do the same.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Sam Fastow: <\/span><\/strong>Sam is a third-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student completing his internship at Bright Horizons Counseling after already completing his practicum at the Gil Institute for Trauma Recovery and Education.\u00a0 He earned his undergraduate degree in Applied Communications with a specialization in Adult and Organizational Development from Temple University.\u00a0 BH Counseling is located in Stafford, VA and offers a wide variety of accessible and affordable mental health services to the local community.\u00a0 Sam will be serving individuals and families in the local and surrounding Stafford County community by offering accessible and supportive person centered care.\u00a0 After graduation he plans to continue working toward briging the gap of accessible services to underserved populations by working toward his license and specialized services such as play therapy and EMDR to off as pro bono or sliding scale fee services whenever possible.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Quincy Dillman: <\/span><\/strong>Quincy is completing her internship in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program with the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board. Quincy is practicing as a clinician in training with Turning Point, a CSB program that provides case management, individual and group counseling, education and employment support, and psychiatric care for youth currently experiencing or at risk for psychosis. At this site she has enjoyed getting to learn more about community mental health and diagnosing and treating psychosis. Quincy is passionate about working with adolescents from all different backgrounds and previously worked at two different residential youth treatment facilities. After graduation, Quincy plans to continue working with adolescents experiencing serious mental illness in a community or residential setting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Eva Allison:<\/span> <\/strong>Eva is in her final year in Marymount University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She is currently working as an intern at National Capital Treatment and Recovery’s Arlington Recovery Center (ARC). ARC is a co-ed residential substance abuse treatment program that serves Arlington County and City of Alexandria residents in need of withdrawal management and early recovery, regardless of ability to pay. ARC is also unique among substance abuse treatment because it can provide services for as long as 60 days, which can be critical for stabilizing patients with complex cases of substance use, severe mental health issues, and other complicating social and cultural factors. Prior to joining ARC for her internship, she completed her practicum at Virginia Hospital Center providing counseling services to patients across the hospital and co-facilitating the behavioral health outpatient program.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Rebecca De Ville:<\/span><\/span><\/strong> Rebecca (Becky) is a third-year Dual Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Forensic and Legal Psychology student interning at Second Story for Teens in Crisis located in Vienna, Virginia. Becky earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology, with a minor in Family Studies, from James Madison University. Second Story for Teens in Crisis is a voluntary program that provides short-term crisis stabilization and emergency housing for youth ages 13-17. The structured program provides individual, group, and family counseling services to residents during their stay. After graduation, Becky hopes to work as a counselor with justice-involved youth or in a crisis-stabilization role, such as on a Crisis Response Team or as a Disaster Mental Health Clinician.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Reagan Stallings:<\/strong><\/span> Reagan is an aspiring mental health professional currently honing her skills as an intern at Got Your Six Counseling Services, PLLC. This private practice holds a special focus on serving active military personnel, veterans, their families, and first responders. With dedication and a commitment to this cause, Reagan diligently works to grow her skills in trauma-informed care, group counseling, and couples therapy. Her passion for this cause stems from a deep-seated belief in the importance of providing crucial mental health services to underserved populations. Reagan envisions a future where she will have the privilege of continuing her work with these communities, striving to enhance her abilities to offer them the support and care they rightfully deserve.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Kelliann Jenkins:<\/span><\/strong> Kelliann is a third-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student interning at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic (Cohen Clinic) in Silver Spring, MD. Kelliann earned her undergraduate degree from Chatham University in Psychology. The Cohen Clinic is an outpatient clinic offering a wide variety of services to active-duty service members, veterans, and their family members. Kelliann is utilizing this clinical placement to strengthen her skills when serving individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, and depression. Kelliann is passionate about working with this population and plans to continue working with military veterans and their family members after graduation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Ashley Tucker:<\/span><\/strong> Ashley is a third-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student interning at the Arlington County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) in Arlington, Virginia. The CAC is a child-centered agency where professionals across many disciplines work together to conduct investigations, treatments, interventions, and prosecutions of child abuse cases. The CAC\u2019s mission is to \u201cpromote the safety and well-being of children in Arlington County when there is an allegation of sexual, severe physician and\/or mental abuse.\u201d Ashley is grateful for the opportunity to work at the CAC and passionate about her work with this population. She looks forward to continuing her education and applying her professional skills to serve children from underrepresented communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Meet Isabel Prieto:<\/strong> <\/span>Isabel is in her second year in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, currently interning at DC VA Counseling Psychotherapy. DC VA is a private practice that sees a wide range of clients; however, Isabel specializes in working with children and adolescents. She received her B.A in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University, with minors in Music as a Healing Art and Sociology. Working with children and adolescents, she utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques to help clients to help realize their potential and reach their therapeutic goals. Isabel plans to continue to work with children and adolescents in hospital settings in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet Lichelle Brown: <\/span><\/strong>Lichelle is a third-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student intern at Counseling and Forensic Services (CFS) in Woodbridge, VA. Lichelle earned her Human Services undergraduate degree from Mount Saint Mary’s College in New York. Lichelle also served in the United States Army as a Combat Medic for nearly ten years. At CFS, a private practice that offers various services and specializes in Sex Offender Counseling, Lichelle’s fluency in Spanish has been a valuable asset. It has not only facilitated her ability to provide Sex Offender Counseling in Spanish but also enhanced her understanding of different cultural backgrounds. Her life experience and clinical knowledge have further strengthened her skills as an intern at CFS, particularly in working with children and family systems.<\/span><\/p>\n
