Student Work & Research in Mathematics

Student research is enthusiastically promoted. Each year, mathematics and science faculty collaborate on various research projects with undergraduate students, from freshmen to seniors, and many of these students receive summer stipends for their participaiton.

Recent projects have included modeling the spread of infectious diseases, such as cholera and Lyme disease, modeling cellular development in the brain, analysis of consumer data and sports data, and the study of pedagogical practices in math and science classrooms.
