Psi Chi

Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate men and women who make the study of psychology one of their main interests and who meet the academic qualifications.

Why join Psi Chi?

Contacts made through Psi Chi will be valuable throughout your educational and professional career. Some concrete advantages include

  • a membership certificate and card, which give tangible evidence of membership
  • excellent experience for résumé building
  • meeting one of the requirements for entrance at the GS-7 level in federal service, as recognized by the U.S. government
  • a springboard for professional growth – opportunities are made available to the members for promoting their research, receiving national and international recognition, meeting and interacting with leaders in their field, and meeting Psi Chi members of other chapters who also will be future leaders.

Psychology Club

The Psychology Club broadens the student body’s awareness of psychology and mental health issues through community service, outreach, and various activities. Meetings are publicized on campus and membership is open to the entire student body.

Intelligence Club

The Intelligence Club connects students with the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC), located conveniently throughout the DC Metropolitan region. The club is known by high-ranking members of agencies such as the CIA, FBI, NSA, IALEIA, and more, and is working to engage more closely with private sector organizations. Students do not need to be enrolled in the Intelligence Studies Concentration to join. Alumni are also welcome.

Order of the Sword and Shield National Honor Society

The Order of the Sword and Shield National Honor Society is an honor society that recognizes the scholastic and professional achievements of students and alumni from institutions granting diplomas, associate and baccalaureate degrees, graduate degrees, or their equivalents, in the fields of homeland security, intelligence, emergency management and protective security.
