Masters of Education Programs

Marymount graduate students are prepared and ready to enter the teaching profession. Students have over 100 hours of field experience connected to coursework before the student teaching semester.
Marymount’s teacher preparation programs are accredited by the Division of Teacher Education and Certification of the Virginia Department of Education and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
All courses are taught by full-time or adjunct faculty who have taught in the field or discipline and have a terminal degree such as a Ph.D. or Ed.D. Classes are collegial, with 25 students or fewer, which leads to meaningful engagement between students and faculty.
Flexible Formats and Schedules
Traditional: All programs are offered in this format which offers courses in the late afternoon and evening.
Fast-Track -PDS Program: A collaborative effort with Fairfax County public schools combines coursework with a 9-month internship placement. Completion of the PDS program leads to a master’s degree in education (M. Ed.) within one year and teaching licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
