For more than 30 years, Jef Dolan has been on the faculty of Marymount’s Department of Communication. She originally taught all the then-required Public Speaking courses in the University. Teaching those courses remains her interest. With a background in Performance from Northwestern University, she also teaches a variety of analysis, writing, and performance courses in the department. Dolan taught a course, “Communication: From Babbling to Broadcasting” for the DISCOVER 101 First-Year Seminar. Also, she has been an internship director for a variety of disciplines in the School of Arts and Sciences.
Dolan centered her scholarship on experiential learning in Communication. Active in national, regional, and state communication associations, Dolan has presented papers and organized instructional panels in this field.
Active in Arlington Community organizations, Ms. Dolan has served as a consultant to the County Board, vice-chair of the Arlington Red Cross, a founder of the Arlington Arts Center, taught for the Arlington Learning in Retirement Institute, and served for 23 years on the Arlington Cable and Technology Commission.
