After teaching several years as a Marymount adjunct, Kathalynn Beck joined Marymount’s faculty full time in 2007.
Active in the local community, Beck has served as a board member of The Women’s Home in Arlington, Virginia for six years. This facility provides housing and support to women recovering from substance abuse. She also serves as co-principal investigator on an ongoing grant that seeks to determine the impact of the current economic downturn on the elderly population. Additionally, she is the principal investigator on a social science project that utilizes an epidemiological approach to social science issues.
She is currently working on her dissertation and anticipates completion of her Ed.D. in health care education in 2011. Beck teaches courses in both the Health Sciences and Health Promotion Management programs. She serves on Marymount’s Institutional Review Board and participates in several community health events sponsored by Marymount.
