Dr. Mark Trowbridge joined the faculty at Marymount University in 2005 and teaches a wide variety of courses in art history and the humanities at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Trowbridge specializes in 15th- and 16th-century art from the Low Countries, and has published several essays and has presented many papers on this subject. He is currently preparing a book on art and theater in late-medieval Bruges; it will be published by Brepols Publishers, Turnhout BE.
A native of Oregon, Dr. Trowbridge earned his bachelor’s degree from Portland State University, and his graduate degrees from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University. He has since been the recipient of senior post-doctoral fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
