With expertise in leadership coaching and organizational development, Dr. Cynthia Roman became one of Marymount’s full-time faculty members in the fall of 2008 after serving as an adjunct faculty member since the early 1990s.
Dr. Roman has made multiple presentations on coaching and leadership at annual conferences of the International Coach Federation and the American Society of Training and Development. She is the co-author of two books on leadership coaching: Leading from the Inside Out: A Coaching Model (2002) and Organizational Coaching (2008). She also wrote two chapters on teaching and learning in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook, (2nd ed, 2009).
Dr. Roman is certified as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coach Federation, and she is often engaged to coach leaders in the business and federal government communities in the Washington, DC, area. Dr. Roman also coordinates Marymount’s HR Advisory Council, which consists of Human Resource leaders from the surrounding business community. In this capacity, she nurtures important partnerships that ensure quality HR curricula, helps recruit potential students, and develops internship placements. Dr. Roman is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the International Coach Federation, and The Academy of Management.
