University Assessment Committee

The purpose of the University Assessment Committee (UAC) is to oversee the systematic use of assessment and evaluation for the improvement of the Marymount experience. To achieve this goal the committee reviews both academic and administrative assessment activities. In addition it ensures fulfillment of external accrediting standards.

The University Assessment Committee is responsible for:
  • Keeping the university community apprised of expectations for assessment, including requirements related to Marymount's regional accreditation
  • Overseeing the implementation of the University's assessment plan and periodically evaluating and revising the plan
  • Reviewing each department's assessment report and providing feedback to the department heads to help them enhance their programs and ensure they are fulfilling regional accreditation requirements
  • Helping units maximize the use of available assessment tools and resources and provide feedback to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on additional data and resources needed

Committee Membership

The University Assessment Committee is convened by and reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The UAC is composed of:
  • One faculty member appointed from each of the four schools
  • One staff member appointed from each administrative division of the university
  • The Director of Institutional Assessment of the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness
