New Student Advising and Registration for Honors Students

As a new student in the Honors program, we have a specialized course selection and registration process for you. Freshmen admitted to the Honors Program

  • Take HON 101 The Quest instead of DSC 101
  • Take EN 102 Composition II
  • Are assisted in the registration process by the Honors Program instead of registering through Marynet

What's Next?

On the next page you will be asked to complete the Directed Self Placement (DSP) portion of the New Student Advising and Registration process.

Please complete DSP in its entirety. Although you will be taking slightly different courses from the typical first-year student in your first semester, the DSP process for writing and math must be completed in order to help us create your schedule. For the writing portion, please choose to take EN 101 when prompted during your DSP even though we know you will not be registering for that class.

Once you have completed your placements for English and Math and have received and printed out your DSP results, you may exit the system and email honors@marymount.edu to contact an advisor. An advisor will then contact you and work with you to create a customized schedule. The advisor will also want to know about any AP/IB or dual enrollment courses you may have taken or plan to take this summer.

We look forward to talking to you soon and to helping you choose the best classes for your first semester at Marymount!
