Marymount to Launch the iMBA, the Integrative Master of Business Administration, in Fall 2013

Thursday, April 25, 2013
Marymount University will launch the iMBA, the Integrative Master of Business Administration, in fall 2013. The 39-credit program integrates intellectual content with real-world context, delivering a curriculum that addresses the constantly changing realities of today’s business environment.
School of Business Administration Dean James Ryerson says, “Future business professionals, whatever their specialization must have a breadth of expertise that includes an awareness of  emerging business issues and an understanding of the global business environment. The Marymount iMBA – with its emphasis on integration of business knowledge and problem-solving skills as well as interactive collaboration between students, professors, and visiting experts – represents the current best practices in business education.”

Marymount’s iMBA combines subject knowledge, management strategies, and leadership expertise. Courses are designed to develop critical and creative thinking skills that will prepare business professionals to deal effectively with current and emerging business trends and challenges.

Students can also take advantage of earning a dual degree by combining the iMBA with a second master’s degree in human resource management, information technology, or health care management. Dean Ryerson explains, “Dual degrees have become a popular option. At Marymount, students can combine the breadth of the iMBA with the depth of a content field specific to their business interest.”

Marymount’s commitment to small classes maximizes the opportunity for teamwork between students and faculty and also reflects the real-world business experience. In addition, iMBA students will have the option of taking an international business course that includes a short-term study-abroad component – providing an essential global perspective.

Dr. Teresa Long, Marymount’s iMBA director, comments, “Today’s graduate students are looking for a program that will help them advance professionally.  Marymount’s iMBA with its focus on the integration of knowledge, practice, and skills will provide a strong educational experience that will prepare business professionals for successful careers.
