Kjell Crooke Tabbed CAC Player of the Week
York, Pa. – Marymount University junior forward Kjell Crooke was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Crooke tallied a pair of goals in a key 3-2 victory over CAC foe Wesley to snap a four-game winless-streak and keep the Saints in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Crooke put the Saints (4-6-1, 1-2-1 CAC) on the board early against the Wolverines in the fifth minute, collecting a pass from Cherif Moktefi through the Wesley defense to give MU a quick 1-0 lead. He would add the game-winner in the 84th minute, streaking down the left side and taking a pass from Philippe Millogo to beat the keeper far post to break open the draw.
The Saints’ leading scorer, Crooke is tied for sixth in the CAC in points with 11 and is tied for fourth in goals with five.
