Marymount Golfers Go Green

Monday, April 11, 2011
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s golf team recently volunteered with Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment’s Green Living Expo at nearby Washington-Lee High School. The Saints were there to answer questions, provide input, and offer support for those interested in a clean lifestyle.

"I'm happy we were able to help with ACE and I hope our players will inspire others to be more considerate of Earth's perspective,” head coach Brent Williams said. “The future of life depends on all of us. And if we are to further explore other worlds, it will be because we understood and respected the ideals of going green."

The expo provided the Arlington community with information about how to create a green lifestyle and featured both national and local vendors that specialized in sustainable products. Featuring information such as practical ways Arlington residents can green their lifestyles, the expo focused on energy conservation, solid waste reduction, eco-friendly transportation, green home remodeling, sustainable landscaping and healthy homes.

ACE is a resource for public education about the local environment and for volunteer involvement in environmental improvement efforts.
