No. 18 Salisbury Too Much for Men’s Soccer
Salisbury, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s soccer team fell 3-0 to 18th-ranked Salisbury in Capital Athletic Conference on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints held their nationally-ranked opponent scoreless for 58 minutes before surrendering three goals down the stretch.
Salisbury (7-0-2, 2-0-0 CAC) outshot the Saints 28-4 but only 11 of those were on target. Marymount (2-5-1, 0-1-1 CAC) goalkeeper William Brahmstedt collected eight saves on the day, including five in the second half.
Carlos Salinas, Kjell Crooke, Meceal Getachew and Nicholas Gruber each recorded shots in the loss for the Saints.
The Sea Gulls put their first shot on the board in the 58th minute before adding goals in 10 minute increments at the 66:54 and 76:53 marks.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday, September 25, on the road at Hood in CAC play.
