York, Pa. – Marymount University junior volleyball player Jenn Forbes was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by league office on Monday. Forbes led the Saints to a 3-1 record on the week including a key conference victory to remain in the hunt for a postseason berth.
On the week, Forbes averaged 2.93 kills per set at a sizzling .462 attack percentage. She added nine total blocks in the four matches and a pair of service aces.
Forbes’ top performances came in the Saints (11-15) home finale against Shenandoah and in a neutral site match against Lycoming. She tallied 15 and 12 kills, respectively, in each of the two contests and hit over .500 in both four-set wins. With the win over Lycoming the Saints extended their season-best winning-streak to six matches, their longest since the 2006 season.
Marymount returns to action on Wednesday at St. Mary’s (Md.) in a pivotal CAC showdown. The winner of the contest solidifies a postseason bid while the loser is eliminated from tournament contention.
