York, Pa. – Marymount University freshman Jessie Daley was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. She has now won the accolade twice in her rookie season with the Saints.
Daley was the top finisher in a field of 24 at the Hood Invitational, posting a time of 20:39 in the 5K course. She became the first Saints runner to win a race in program history.
Leading MU to its first full-team performance of the year, Daley didn’t disappoint as the Saints finished second behind host Blazers. Marymount notched 39 points to finish just three shy of the winner.
The Saints return to action on Saturday, November 6, at the CAC Championships in Salisbury, Md.
