York, Pa. – Marymount University freshman guard Jesse Konadu was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Konadu is the fourth Saints to garner CAC Rookie of the Year accolades and is the third in the past five years.
Konadu averaged 13.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He was the Saints leading scorer and top three-point threat, shooting 39.5 percent from downtown.
Scoring in double-figures in 21 games, Konadu notched at least 20 points twice including a career-high 22 in a win over DeSales en route to earning All-Tournament Team honors at the Marymount Tip-Off Tournament. He also knocked down 20 in a season opening victory over Ursinus.
Marymount returns its top four scorers in 2012-13, including Konadu.
