Men’s Lacrosse Releases 2013 Schedule
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s lacrosse program released its 2013 schedule, as announced by head coach Jon Reynolds on Tuesday.
“Building on our success from last season, we put together a solid schedule to prepare us for another run at the CAC postseason,” Reynolds said. “With the league in transition with only seven teams this year, we also had the opportunity to deepen our non-conference slate against some traditionally strong opponents.”
The Saints open the season against former Capital Athletic Conference rival Catholic on February 20 at Long Bridge Park. The Cardinals are one of six non-conference foes that MU will play at home. Other opponents include Washington & Jefferson, Southwestern, Colorado College, Ferrum and Shenandoah. Marymount also takes on Messiah and Gwynedd-Mercy on the road.
As usual, the Saints will take on a tough CAC slate but only play two conference games at home because of the transition in the league’s membership. Marymount hosts St. Mary’s (Md.) in its CAC opener on March 20 and Frostburg State in the home finale on April 13.
Other key league games include a trip to two-time defending National Champions Salisbury on March 30 and the regular season finale at rival Mary Washington on April 20.
The Saints look to make a repeat appearance in the CAC postseason as they return 27 letterwinners and six starters from last year’s squad.
