Macedonia Places 10th in 100 Backstroke at NCAA Championships
Knoxville, Tenn. – Marymount University junior Anna Macedonia placed 10th in the 100 Backstroke at the 2011 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships on Friday. With her finish, she earns Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Macedonia swam a 56.78 in the event during preliminaries, setting a Marymount record in the process. She finished just .18 of a second out of the top-eight to continue to the consolation heat later in the day. During the consolation swim, she broke her own record yet again with a time of 56.60 to finish 10th.
With two events down, Macedonia closes out competition in the 200 Backstroke on Saturday.
