Men’s Swimming Drops Pair at Tri-Meet

York, Pa. – Marymount University’s men’s swimming team dropped a pair at a tri-meet on Saturday. The Saints fell 93-29 to host York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference action and lost 96-26 to Washington & Jefferson in non-league competition.

Freshman Michael Yelmgren provided Marymount with its only top medalist, winning the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.07. He also finished second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.45, just under half a second behind the winner.

Greg Shumaker added a second place finished, posting a time of 2:31.30 in the 200 breaststroke.

The Saints claimed a trio of third place finishes as well. Christian Jacky followed Shumaker in the 200 breaststroke at 2:34.43 while Ryan Kilmon placed third in the 100 backstroke at 58.55. The team of Brian Tinsman, Kilmon, Yelmgren and Shumaker finished third in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:45.57.

Marymount returns to action on Saturday, November 13, with its home opener against CAC foe Hood at 2 p.m.
