Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s lacrosse team once again participated in the Superstar Family Fun Day “Mason Mile” Fun Run to support the Mason Leach Superstar Fund. The Saints took part in the one mile walk/run before staying afterwards to participate in activities and teach the kids some lacrosse skills.
“This event is important me and to our players given the circumstances many of us have experienced,” Saints head coach Jon Reynolds said. “It is something we will do our best to always be involved in because of what Mason taught us about the true meaning of being strong and how to be a great person.”
The local program was created to benefit Children’s National Medical Center Hematology-Oncology Department in memory of Mason Leach, a five year old boy who lost his battle to medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer, in October 2007.
