Hempstead, Md. – Marymount University’s golf team took part in the opening day of the Capital Athletic Conference Championships at Piney Branch Golf Club on Friday morning. Three Saints competed in the event.
Sophomore Peter Johns carded a first round 84 to tie for sixth place after day one. Both Nick Ryerson and Adam Kleinschmidt posted scores of 92 to tie for 17th.
Stevenson leads all teams with an opening round 323 while York (Pa.) is second with a 336. Wesley stands third with a score of 350 while Hood is fourth at 362. Marymount did not field the required minimum of four players to post a team score.
The Saints return to action on Saturday with the second round of the championships.
