Women’s Soccer Tops Former CAC Foe
Frederick, Md. – Marymount University’s women’s soccer team defeated former Capital Athletic Conference foe Hood 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon. The Saints move to 5-3 overall on the season.
Four of Marymount’s five wins have been shutouts, with the other victory coming after allowing a lone goal.
Julie Fioramonti scored the game-winner for the Saints in the 85th minute. The sophomore launched a shot from 25 feet out off the Blazers keeper’s hands for the goal.
Defensively, the Saints held Hood to just five shots on the day with only one on target. Victoria Wyand and Holly Wenger split duties in between the pipes with Wenger collecting the only save and win on the day.
Marymount returns to action as it hosts CAC foe Salisbury on Saturday, September 29 as part of the Saints 2012 Homecoming festivities.
