Joseph Foster Named Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations

Joseph D. W. Foster, Esq., joined Marymount University as vice president for development and alumni relations on January 7. In this position, he is responsible for all fund-raising initiatives, including the annual fund, major gifts, and corporate and foundation grants, as well as all alumni relations programs.

Mr. Foster holds a B.S. in Political Science from Campbellsville College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

He comes to Marymount from Eastern Kentucky University, where he served as vice president for advancement for the past seven years. In that role he was responsible for all development, alumni relations, and foundation programming and initiatives. In addition, Mr. Foster served as legal advisor to the Eastern Kentucky University Foundation on charitable giving, estate planning, investment management, and general corporate matters. He also successfully conducted the university’s first comprehensive capital campaign and developed its gift acceptance policies and procedures.

Before being promoted to vice president for advancement, Mr. Foster served as Eastern Kentucky University’s associate vice president for development from 2003 to 2005. Previously, he was director of development and general counsel at Campbellsville University in Kentucky.

Mr. Foster is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, the American Bar Association, and the Kentucky Bar Association.
